Cherry a la Mode

Cherry decided she wanted MOAR PICATURES!!! But, she didn't want to wear clothes, so we get a little nude fairy! Pics by Rosslyn.

Picnic with Cherry and Apple

The Blossom sisters hadn't had a chance to chat in such a long time, so they held a little picnic to gossip. Photos by Rosslyn.

Cherry's Glamour Shots

Cherry hasn't been feeling the love lately, so I am putting up some pictures taken by friends of her adorable wee face and big smile.

Cherry

Peek-A-Boo in the Yarn Shop

Cherry's Beginning

Shortly after obtaining her, Cherry was brought out to be given a full body blushing and her cheeks and grinning mouth were to be pinked.  Rosslyn made her a wig out of feathers. It's rather fetching but not quite her.  Isn't she a cutey?  We popped off her faceplate and brought out her sleeping faceplate, which had no faceup. Here they are laid out with Rosslyn matching the blushed areas to begin with. And now we have her with us antiquing, later that week!  You can see her pink wittle knees and cheeks. She's all done but for more clothes and a regular wig. The chair and padded footstool she's sitting on were made out of curled aluminum, possibly from soda cans. They were really cool! Aw, her little smiling face; it brings me glee.  Oh no! There are faeries in the tea! We grew concerned that our girls were going to hit the road and leave us in the dust. Thankfully, Cherry doesn't know how to drive, and Apple didn't think to gas the car.

Cherry's Box Opening

When Cherry arrived, I had no clothes and no wig for her, so it was in borrowing from Rosslyn that I managed to at least not have her naked that first night. Briar never had a proper box opening, so don't expect her pics, heh.  Here we have...the Box! It arrived in the mail and Rosslyn was kind enough to wait until I get back from work that evening to open it, as it also contained her Realpuki Tyni.  Wee little shoes!  The Tyni silver wrapper around the red book box.  The ever popular red storybook cases of the Fairyland dolls. These are the same ones that the Pukipukis come in. I don't think Fairyland has gotten around to making the Realpukis their own, as they can fit in these without breaking in transit.  However, their long ears mean they cannot be shipped with a whole head. Lol!  Aren't they adorable?? The Tyni, Rosslyn's Apple, is standing on the table, the Soso, my dear Cherry, is being supported by me above. And her pretty borrowed dr...

All Things Have a Beginning

I suppose no BJD blog would be complete without some explanation as to how in the world I got into the hobby in the first place. So, I will take this time now to place the blame squarely on the head of my best friend, Rosslyn. It's all her fault. I'd never heard of BJDs until she stumbled upon them in the beginning of 2009. I was content with my hobbies then: drawing, roleplaying, writing, crochet, etc. She was customizing the 27cm Obitsus  and through them she discovered proper resin-cast BJDs. She fell head over heels in love with them and, as we were roommates at the time, I got a daily ear-full about them. Now, I dutifully looked at the links she sent me, admired the pretty dolls, but upon looking at the price tags, I decided not to really think about them. I could barely afford my bills and I had debt wracked up. No luxury items for me. In retrospect, I seriously underestimated the craftiness, sneakiness, and generosity of my roommate and her cousin. I did continue to lo...
