My First Doll's Box Opening (warning: some minor doll nudity)

It's only fair to introduce my dolls in the order they arrived, so here we go! Khorae, my Iplehouse YID Silvia, arrived in August of 2009. She's a long time character of mine, and as such, she has a canon pairing with one of Rosslyn's characters, shelled in an Iplehouse EID Akando, named Donovan.

Me: Hey, Don, ready to open your mail order bride?
Donovan: She isna my "mail order bride". *air quotes*
Me: Oh really. Where is she from?
Donovan: ...South Korea... >.>
Me: Did we pay money for her?
Donovan: Aye... >.<
Me: Did she come in the mail?
Donovan: Aye!
Me: She's a mail order bride!
Donovan: NO she ISNA!
Me: Oh neat, she comes in her own bag!
Donovan: Et's a...bubblewrap mummy.
Khorae: Mmfmfm!
Me: There we go, all unwrapped!
Khorae: I need a wig, and clothes!
Donovan: She...doesna need the clothes...
Me: There we go, a wrap and a temp wig to go with the temp eyes...
Donovan: Machree...you're so beautiful...
Khorae: You don't care I look like some punk vampire?
Donovan: No' a whit...
Khorae: Oh, we can't...We're being watched.
Donovan: >.< If you don' mind we'd like to be alone naow.
Me: Oh, right, eheheh...

Progress on the Modifications

I do not have pictures at this time, but that will hopefully change soon. Khorae's modifications are mostly complete now and her posing ability is amazing, especially compared to what it once was. She can sit up straight without any support--and did so for two days straight! She can even cross her legs and hold that pose as well. Her new sleeping head has had the lips parted further for a more natural sleeping look, and the eyes have been closed with epoxy sculpt. The nose has also been filed down to match her awake head, and the ears pierced. I'll go into more detail when I do finally have photos. Unfortunately, though, she's still blank, so hopefully we can get her blushed and faceupped soon, before the autumn weather changes to something too damp to work with.

The Cloaks Are Finished!

The cloaks I mentioned in the previous post are completely finished and posted on the DoA forums. I loved the pics taken. They make me wish I had a Fairyland Littlefee at home to wear them. So cute! I Live! Dollies Live, Too!

I haven't forgotten about my blog, I promise. My classes have begun to kick my butt, so my free time is eaten up by homework and tests and studying. However, I do have good news on the dolly front. Today, Khorae was completely pulled apart at Rosslyn's place and wiped clean. Faceup included. She's about to undergo serious modifications (beyond the nosejob we've already given her). Rosslyn is going to add posing capabilities to Khorae's torso and legs, so that she can properly sit up, and stand. Also, Rosslyn mentioned that she felt she was better and more experienced at faceups now, so Khorae needed a more natural look while still being manicured. Think manicured in the Middle Ages. Also, Khorae will be getting a second head, so she'll have a sleeping face as well as her awake one, and we also have a second pair of hands we hope to boil and then curve the resin into a shape more conducive to holding something.
